Censorship.

Those of you visiting my blog will *probably* have seen the banner, and if it annoys you my apologies it'll be down tomorrow.  However I believe Internet censorship is a very important issue.

The man always keeping us down.
There may be things such as child pornography that people argue shouldn't be on the internet, which I agree, but other things that this bill could censor such as creative works.  For you non-American readers, you can disregard this for now, but also think that it could spread world wide if the "land of the free" is willing to hide its citizen from the Internet.

I know a few people will argue about all the technicalities of censoring websites and how hard that would truly be, but I have a fairly convincing argument.  Whats the easiest way to stop people from doing illegal things on the internet?  Block the internet from everyone.  That may sound drastic and totalitarian, but its a solution nonetheless, which is why I think people need to really get a voice out on the issue about Internet censorship.

Too little time

My blog posts might get shorter and shorter, but they will not stop.  I think rather than trying to fit in time to draft a post and all, I might just have 3-4 lines or more depending on how fast thoughts fly into my head.
The bane of computer gaming
I got a hold of the files for Skyrim from a friend and attempted to install them.  However my Mac Mini's insides are the equivalent of a laptop, and even when I had the Cider wrapper all configured I still had a pretty choppy game.  I might try to tweak some more, I might not.

Been really pressed for time recently,

TOO MUCH STUFF

Yes, the title is in all caps. I AM YELLING AT YOU.  Sorry about the lack of updates, been pretty busy lately.  I'll elaborate on Monday. Maybe.  For now I leave you with a mini-graphic I made in GIMP while I had a minute to myself.  The AS50 is the best sniper rifle in Call of Duty. Ever. Period.

Boo Hiss

Well, as expected the levy did not pass.  Was kind of a bummer, but that just means that the school board will put it back up in the spring, and I will be back out there with more friends and more signs.  It was sort of close, 54% of votes being against the levy, so maybe in the spring some hearts will have changed.  The real disappointment is that this was the first time the school had asked for more money in like 7 years.

Its me, in the next few weeks
Is anyone still going strong in No-Shave-November?  I am, but I'm sort of afraid that my beard will take over my body by the end of November.  Still no word from Microsoft for when my account will be back online, so I went ahead and made another account to exploit the free month of Gold they give you if you sign up through a console.  The rest of this week will have 0 productivity as I sit in the dark playing MW3 online so I can start my "main" gamertag with a snazzy looking Kill/Death ratio.

Hoping it doesn't snow tomorrow,
~Gryt

PS: Saw this cool little make 1 cent per click link thing on Bart's blog, so I've gone ahead and added it to my signature^ so every blog post from now on my name will be in pretty colors, and also possibly making me pennies at a time.

Rally!

Well I got it, and I'll have to say MW3 is indeed fun for me, or at least what I've played so far.  Since I can't play online, Survival mode is definitely my favorite right now.  Its like a mesh of zombies and spec ops.
Here's my hand, quite content while walking out of GameStop
In unrelated news, there was a levy for my school today and quite a large one at that.  For almost two hours after school, some other students and I held signs on some major intersections near the school encouraging people to vote yes on the levy.  Unfortunately, no one around here cares about us and it'll probably fail.

Oh well.  For anyone who's interested, and when I'm back online my gamertag is "IlI Gryt IlI" though who knows how long it'll be before I'm connected again.

Hoping to have Live back soon,
~Gryt

Burning Money

Well, I paid for the rest of MW3 today, but theres no way in hell I'm giving up precious sleeping time for a midnight release.  Maybe if theres a Skyrim midnight release, but thats a different story.

Ramirez, RELEASE THE KRAKEN
I really want to start recording for guitar again, but I have a problem and solutions are welcome.  I use Garageband to record, because I have a Mac, but none of the amps are really fitting what I want.  I play through my beloved Orange Dark Terror head and a Peavey 4x12 Valve King Cabinet, and sometimes the sound coming out of it just makes me need to change my pants.

However, I can't seem to recreate this sound, and I can't capture it as I lack a microphone.  I guess I could save up to buy a decent one... but still, theres got to be a free alternative.

I'll adjust some more virtual tone knobs tomorrow,

Silence

Well, band practice got canceled so that sucks.  I had no reason not to do my homework, so for the past 8 hours I've been browsing the internet bored and playing Team Fortress 2 since my gamertag is still locked.

I am citing all images now, to protect any copyrights and all that jazz

Thank you, Generally Disgruntled, for reminding me about Skyrim.  I am 10,000 times more excited for this than MW3, but I'm torn here.  I have a ported copy of Oblivion for Mac, and I like it better than the 360 version.  Based on my countless hours of "research" Skyrim will be better on Mac/PC than the 360 as well, but I'd have to wait for another unofficial port, and who knows how long that could take.

Also, I bough more wood clamps today.  If I've learned anything useful, its that you can never have enough clamps.

November will be a good month for gaming,

Time keeps on slippin'...

...into the future.

I really want to read that book, and do the review I promised you loyal followers but I haven't had time yet.  Don't fret I'll get to it sometime.

Thanks deviantart
Team Fortress decided to work today, so I accomplished next to nothing, all in good fun.

Anybody else ready for MW3?  I got a text from GameStop today about my preorder, hopefully the game lives up to its hype.  Maybe I'll do a few CoD themed posts, or just one, depending on how good the game is.

Ready for band practice tomorrow,
~Gryt

Bummer, dude.

FYI: Yes, those Altoids are insanely ginger-y.  I still prefer the Wintergreen over them but eh its whatever.

I tried to load up Steam to play some Team Fortress 2 today. That lasted for a good hour, and I got into no games.  Apparently Steam hates me, HL2-OSX.app would mysteriously quit everytime I tried to join a match.

Curse you, Steam.
Anyways, I got band practice on Sunday, and supposedly the singer will be there. For those of you who don't know (aka, all of you) the singer has made it to one practice in the past two months and we practice every weekend.  Oh well, he said he was still practicing at home.

Going to -hopefully- start my Altoids tin charger project this weekend too,

Abort Mission

Gotta love it when everything falls apart.  Started raining today so my fall-weather-enjoying-time was ruined, and my interface for recording guitar decided to poop out on me so nothing new there.

I was at Rite-aid the other day and saw some ginger Altoids.  Boy are they strange, I still can't tell if I like them or not and I've ate half the tin.  While I'm on the subject of Altoids, I've started my next project.  Also at Rite-aid I picked up some cheap solar lights which I'm ripping the solar panels out of.  I'm going to make a solar ipod/battery charger somewhat similar to the one on instructables.

What a boring week its been,

Fire

Well I got bored today and made some homemade "napalm" to huddle around to keep warm outside.  I should've taken some pictures, it was pretty cool to watch as it burned.

Going to *hopefully* start recording more guitar riffs tomorrow, assuming I don't get distracted as the weathers been decent recently.

Eh

Not too much happened today, I was feeling pretty lazy.  I really don't know where the day went.  I got home, went outside, came back inside, repeated this a few times because apparently I have Alzheimer's and I have no clue what I was meant to be doing, and then all of a sudden I realized I still had plenty of biology left to do, not to mention eat dinner.

On a side note, I shall be doing a review of this book soon.

You can purchase it here or here.

Happy Halloween!

Well, I hope everyone had a good Halloween.  I didn't do much, but one of my closest friend's birthdays is today so she had a costume party over the weekend.  Did you guys do anything exciting?

I'm hoping to start recording and post some guitar snippets here soon, I don't have anything original planned yet but I have a few Slayer riffs I might mix together, just to keep content flowing.

Recently, I had my Xbox Live gamertag closed as I was missing 1300 Microsoft points and had achievements for games that I don't even own.  I haven't heard anything back yet but I really hope I get everything sorted out before MW3 comes out.  I've decided to get it, even though people will diss on it theres no doubt that some aspects of the game will be fun.  Besides I plan to treat it as any other CoD game and have fun with my friends, playing the game how I want to not try-harding or complaining about every little thing.

Quick update

Alright, this is a quick update.  I might change the format of the blog a little; I've been more busy on weekends but I usually have some spare time when I get home from school so I'm thinking this'll become a weekdaily blog.

I got a few projects in the works right now that I'll try to keep updated on.
-Self built guitar, haven't started it yet (project for woodshop in school, don't expect pictures til it's finished)
-Recordings of my guitar through garageband
-Mining bitcoins

Starting Monday, this blog will be back up and running full time.

I Need a Defibrillator, Stat.

Alright guys, I got some exciting news. I am officially a youtube partner.  I don't know how I managed it but I am, so this blog will now cover my chronicles as a master movie maker.

I am counting on you, yes you, because the only videos I have on my channel are pretty mediocre at best to give me new ideas.

So far I've come up with me improvising on guitar, and more random Black Ops videos, maybe even a Forza 4 video if I can figure out how that works.

I promise I'll be more dedicated to the blog now, schools slowed down a bit and I have time to think out more than three sentences to post here.

Hoping I didn't lose all my followers

Dead Blog?

Well sorry to let down my loyal followers again, more stuff has come up outside of blogging so I'll try to update every now and then.  This blog will no longer be daily, it may be weekly or every couple of days. I'll try to get at least two posts a month at the very least.

School's starting back up for me next Tuesday, I don't mind school that much its just the getting up early part that kills me.  Hopefully school will bring something blogworthy to talk about.

Not too much happens around these parts.

Pretty much all in the title, I've been busy with the band and work over the weekend, other than that I have absolutely nothing to blog about so hopefully tomorrow something interesting or note worthy happens.

I have been playing Forza 3 a lot in the wee hours of the morning before I fall asleep, that game is really addicting for me. Can't wait for Forza 4 this October, I might spoil myself and preorder the collector's edition to get the bonus cars.

I also saw Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with a few friends, and I actually think that it was my favorite of the 4 Pirates movies.  I thought it was really good, and it was also the first movie I've seen in a theatre in almost a year.

Waiting for some excitement,

Hrm...

I saw it on a couple other blogs, and should I add a reply option to comments? It would make the comment form come in pop-up box, which personally I don't like. Your opinions?

I've been really busy with the band today, and I will be again on Sunday so just a quick post. Got a couple song ideas we're playing around with for the next song which will be a bit harder I think.

Aces High, by Iron Maiden

Welcome Home, by Coheed and Cambria

War Pigs, by Black Sabbath

War Pigs is probably the easiest of the three in my opinion, followed by Aces High and Welcome Home, only because thats the order I've practiced them. Welcome Home has a pretty wicked solo, but we could do solos for me and the other guitarist on Aces High.

Woops.

After this I won't do any knife posts for a while as not to bore anyone unless you guys want to see pictures of it that I've taken and aren't stock photos, but already I have two small cuts from playing with my knife too much haha. Nothing big yet, just two nicks on my thumb about the size of papercuts.  I will admit though, the knife is definitely good quality, its a made in the USA Bear & Sons knife, and the blade is fairly thick and has a good cutting edge.

Here is an article about the history of the Balisong, and I found it very interesting because I thought they originated in the Philippines, but this article pretty well proves that they might have started in Europe, with an English patent dated to 1880.

In other news, my school has been under construction and we might end up starting a week later this year which is cool and all but means that summer will start later as well. Oh well not much to be done about that.

And one final thing, I've heard rumors that Sprint will carry the iPhone 5. If you know anything about Sprint, they have arguably the best data package rates of any mobile carrier, and I'm really considering dropping Verizon just to get an iPhone for the first time.

My thumb has stopped bleeding now as I'm finishing up typing this,

When you say Illegal...

So this is the knife I ordered, it's supposed to be here on the 4th. Pretty cool right?

As to why I got it, I collect knives somewhat, but I'm a pretty big nerd and have always been interested in history behind them and other knives like the kris that I have.  I also have a little experience with flipping these, which is addictive.

As for the legality of it, laws in the US are pretty sketchy about butterfly knives.  I've heard that they are and aren't illegal where I live, so I figure as long as it a) pretty much doesn't leave my house when I go to a public place, at least visible or on my person and b) isn't used as a weapon I'm fine

Still going to be a little busy tomorrow as well.

-Insert action movie sound effects here-

Quick post today as I'm on my ipod, I ordered in a balisong/butterfy knife last night. It's pretty cool i'll get more info when I'm less busy.

Nostalgia = Win

So the other day I was talking to a friend who's been there for me my entire life, and we were talking about the "good old days" playing gamecube and having no worries and it made me think of some of my favorite games ever. I'd have to say that I had more fun playing the gamecube than any other system I've ever played.

One of the first games that came up was Timesplitters. If you've ever played it, you'll understand.  If not, its a hilarious FPS time traveling game that is 10000x funner than any modern FPS.  Though, while googling for videos of it, I found out that a Timesplitters 4 is "to be announced" and Crytek could be working on it.

So I came up with a mini list of my top 7 or 8 games which includes Timesplitters, obviously,Metroid PrimeFinal Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles,Golden Sun: The Lost Age, Tales of Symphonia, Super Smash Bros Melee, and Sonic Adventure

If you noticed, I linked each of those games, except Timesplitters, to a video with a song from each that still gives me goosebumps.

So I leave now, with a fairly long post, asking what are your favorite/most nostalgic games? Any games that the music still haunts you to today?

You should read this in an Irish Accent.

Yesterday I went down to the Dayton Celtic Festival.  It was pretty cool, especially all the live music. Gaelic Storm was one of the big names there, as well as some traditional bagpipe music and those crazy dancers.

I tried to find a kilt but they didn't have any in my size so I got a pretty cool shirt with one of those crosses on it made out of the knots.

There were also some harp players. Harpists? I think it'd be neat to play a harp, to me it looks like a cross between a guitar and a piano.

I'll leave you with some music from Gaelic Storm today.

The Apocalypse is Nigh!

Well, we're still creeping ever so closely to 100 followers so hopefully that comes in the next few days.  Blogging might get a little less scheduled as it gets closer to school starting back up, and my mom is a teacher so the next few weeks I get to help her move boxes of school supplies around.

My back feels quite a bit better now, I slept a lot haha.

In gaming news, its double exp weekend on Black Ops this weekend so I'll be pulling some near all nighters trying to prestige at least once or twice this weekend.

Not too much else has happened, so I'll leave you with one of my favorite flash animation/song combos of all time.

Gah, My Back.

Well I obviously lifted those sheets of drywall wrong. I woke up this morning and my back was dead. Oh well, I don't have much to do today besides band practice.

I still haven't figured out whats wrong with the pedal yet, so I'm calling my uncle who's an electrical engineer later so he can decipher the schematics for me. I'll have to restart that part from scratch but at least it'll work this time. Hopefully.

I can't think of much else to say so I'll leave you with an awesome song that I'm practicing on guitar.
Mastodon's a pretty sweet band in my opinion.  I still need ideas of things to blog, when I have days where nothing interesting enough to write about happens so leave a comment with any suggestions. I'm thinking about doing something related to Half-Life as I was playing that a lot recently.

Busy

Short post for now, I've been loading sheets of 4x4, 4x8 and 4x12 foot drywall all morning so I'm wiped out.  I might post again later with something interesting, its gonna be a busy day today.

Yesterday someone asked what the Budweiser draft horses were when I mentioned I saw them, and yes I'm still going to hopefully upload that video I took later today. No, don't get that excited I took it on my iPod and its only a minute long but its still kind of cool.

Those horses are absolutely beautiful.

Gooooooaaaaaal

So I went to the Newcastle vs Crew game last night, and I have to say I really enjoyed it.  Newcastle won 3-0, but it was a fun match to watch.  Their first goal was unbelievably early, and I think the Crew could have stopped it.  To me, the Crew weren't playing their best during the game but I also think that Newcastle could've played harder but wanted to keep it a friendly match.

Here you can find a recap of the game on the Crew's site.

I love going to the Crew stadium though, I'd have season tickets if it weren't an hour drive.  I have a couple friends in the Hudson Street Hooligans, and I love watching their antics from across the stadium.  While I was there, I talked to my Adidas rep who was in his club suite, and he got me tickets to the August 13th game in his suite since he'll be out of town.  I think they play the revolution then, so I can get another recap of the game for you guys.

One last thing, before the game I was out tailgating with some friends and kicking the ball around when I saw something really cool. The Budweiser Draft horses.  I took a 1 minute clip of them on my iPod, so I might upload that to youtube and include it in tomorrow's post.

Still pumped from an awesome game,

Failure to Launch

Well, as you can see I built the pedal. Unfortunately it doesn't work.  I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet, I might scrap the entire inside and try a different design.

Tonight I'm going to see the Crew vs Newcastle so I'm really excited for that, and my seats are awesome.

EDIT: An interesting fact, several of the players on Newcastle were denied Visas to come to the US for various reasons.

Going back outside to work on my pedal again,

A LOT of Rain

The other day I was at guitar center testing out my beloved amp, that I'll be getting soon hopefully and it started raining out of nowhere. It was in the mid 90's and then the temperature dropped to the upper 60's and it was like a monsoon, and the ceiling was leaking and everything. So that extended my trip there by probably another hour while I waited out the rain.

Also, I saw this book at the mall yesterday and thought you guys might be interested in it. I haven't actually looked at it yet but I got it from the library when I got home so I'll probably read it today.

And a quick last thing, we're almost at 100 follower, thanks for all your support so far!

The Dark Side

I was browsing the Orange Amps website, when I found the new amp I'll have to get.  Behold, the Dark Terror.

It's got the classic Orange tube sound, but with much more distortion. Here you can find a demo of it on youtube.

I've also made much more progress on my pedal, the circuit board is pretty much done and all I'm waiting on now is the case still.

I don't have too much else to say, been pretty busy lately

Its a Bird, its a Plane!

So the air show officially starts today, but yesterday I went outside to see the F16 thunderbirds practice.  Those planes are absolutely amazing, and the pilots are incredibly skilled to be able to pull off all those stunts.  I might go back out and watch a little of it today, but it's supposed to get over 100 again I think, so I won't be out there long.

I made some progress on my pedal, I sort of learned how to read schematics.  Hopefully I can get the rest of the circuit board put together later today.  All I'm waiting on is the actual case to come in the mail.

My band needs some song suggestions, so pretty much any kind of rock besides screamo is what we're willing to play if you guys can think of anything.  We don't have a singer yet though, so nothing too hard because I'd rather not waste 3-4 weeks learning a song that our singer can't sing when we get one.

Currently instrumental,

Gotta Get Down on Friday!

You just got Rebecca rolled. In other news... Today is Audio/Video Day, enjoy.

Heres a short clip I made of a few riffs from the song Holiday by Green Day, its not too good but I didn't spend too much time on it either. I recorded bass and guitar for it and used a sample for the drums

Heres my progress so far on the guitar pedal, excuse the quality I took it on my laptop webcam. Note the schematic which I do not know how to read.

And one last thing, the Brothers in Arms Band is a local band, and I'm good friends with everybody in it. I think they sound amazing, and if you share my musical taste one of their albums is on iTunes. Definitely at least worth a listen, and props to them because all their stuff is original!

Gotta get ready for band practice later, so I can't think of much else to say

Wow, I Feel Stupid.

Alright, I've already been out of school for too long. Yesterday's blog title was "Tuesday". It was posted when it was Wednesday morning, at least for me. Let's just pretend I did that on purpose to be ironic, like a hipster.

This Friday starts the air show in town, but man it is going to be way too hot as usual.  Luckily my house is pretty near the airport where it takes place so I can usually sit in my backyard and see a few planes go by so thats pretty cool.

I don't know how many of you noticed that modernwarfare3.com had been redirecting to battlefield3.com, but recently Activision filed a complaint and tried to gain ownership of the webiste.  Activision doesn't own it yet, but now it just loads to an error screen instead of redirecting you.
And one final thing, heres my guitar that I'll be editing in case some of you never saw the picture to begin with or forgot what it looked like.

Tuesday

Lame title right? I couldn't think of anything better, Tuesday is what it is, the day after Monday.

Also, I came up with a brilliant idea. I am currently typing this sentence at 11:19 PM Monday night, and I will fill in the rest of this space with bullet points of ideas that I wanted to put in the blog but knew I would forget to.  Then I save the draft, and fill out the details when I actually post it.  You, the follower, will see none of this but I thought it was great.

Yesterday I passed the 50 follower "milestone" so theres a little mini-party going on right now, thanks guys.  I was also thinking, thanks to all the comments I got, that I might end up doing daily/very frequent layout or background changes just to keep things fresh.

I'm going to attempt to start a new art project.  I don't know what its going to look like, but I'm going to edit the picture of my guitar I posted way back in March in GIMP and see what comes out.

I Forgot

Man, yesterday there were like three things I wanted to post today in my blog but I can't remember a single one of them.  Bear with me as I keep changing the background haha, I'm still trying to find something that works.

The only exciting thing I can really thing of is that next week I'm going to watch Newcastle United play the Columbus Crew, which should be a really nice match to watch.

To avoid more posts where I can't think of anything to talk about, if theres something you want me to discuss leave a comment because I am totally brain dead right now, haha.  I might update my blog in the evening rather in the morning when I come up with those brilliant ideas and still remember them tomorrow.

Double Post

Trying out a new layout, suggestions/comments appreciated!

Eh, Too Hot.

Its Monday and I just woke up to flip on the news for a Heat Advisory and Heat Index of 103 or something ridiculous. I know its summer, but come on thats just a bit too hot.

In other news, I might be attempting to build a fuzz pedal for my guitar from scratch.  Thanks to the wonderful people over at instructables I have a small idea of what I'm doing: http://www.instructables.com/id/Fuzz-Pedal/.

Hopefully a couple of you watched the World Cup finals, that was a nice match.  I was disappointed in the US during penalty kicks, but serious props to Japan staying with them the entire game.

Rejuvenated!

So I became epically unmotivated lately, and lost internet for a while and stopped updating the blog. Oh well, I've finally found time for it again as I enjoy the last half of my summer.

Hopefully everyone else is enjoying their summers, I've been working to save up for an Orange Amp Tiny Terror Head.

I love tube amps so much and have decided its time to upgrade to one.

Still counting my pennies,

Need For Speed

I picked up Need for Speed Pro Street again today. Man did I forget how addicting that game is. I managed to set enough track records in drag racing today to get all the way to the Drag King and win the title of Drag King.  I definitely feel accomplished.

Somewhat related, my grandpa used to build and race dragsters. It was so amazing to watch. I don't care if you don't think racing is a sport, there's so much energy in the thrill of  a good drag race.  Unfortunately he got in a crash a couple years back and hasn't been the same sense.

Two more days until my Spring Break, the forecast for sunday is 80 degrees F, so I'm definitely looking forward to it.

The Drag King rolls on,

Back From the Dead

Again, I apologize for a lack of posts. I was so sick I could barely move from my bed, so I just put off updating my blog since nothing was happening.

One week til Spring Break, and forgetting the rain for a moment, it's actually starting to feel like spring. That was enough to put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

My school is celebrating foreign language week this week, and being a student of Latin I got to color a cheesy little picture of a guy saying "Vale." That means be well literally, but is usually translated as good-bye, just incase you were curious.

A lot of my friends asked me why I took Latin, with all the "dead language blah blah blah" argument that everyone uses. I think its a fascinating language, and Roman history is really interesting.

Hopefully I can fend of illness long enough to try and revive the "daily-ness" of this blog, I could go on but I don't want to bore everyone with a long block of text. I might add videos and pictures to my blog, but I always forget to save the links whenever I see something good.

Valete amici,

Sick.

Been sick all day, so nothing new has really happened. Throat hurts, got a massive headache and not apetite. Haven't been motivated to do anything all day.

Hope everyone else's week started better than mine.
Gotta keep the short so I can get some rest for tomorrow.

Already drifting off to sleep,

Spring?

I thought it was spring now. It's below freezing outside, and with spring break in two weeks its starting to get to me. I hope that we get some sun before then, because I'd rather not spend spring break stuck inside wishing I lived somewhere warm.

Obviously raccoons aren't deterred by the weather. My trash can was raided last night, luckily trash day was the day before so there wasn't much in the can.

My lucky bamboo is really starting to grow, I've got the perfect spot picked out to transplant it this summer. I might grow a mini garden around it, just to have some fresh fruit or vegetables. I tried it last year, but I had some bad seeds so maybe this bamboo will spead the luck to the plants around it.

Pining for some warm weather,

Bracketology.

My bracket is officially dead. Was an interesting tournament this year wasn't it?

Finally picked up a new new pair of headphones since my other ones were destroyed. Got some nice Sennheisen (sp?) ones that have a 1/4" adapter that lets me plug them into my amp. Pretty cool being able to practice without disturbing everyone around me, hehehe.

Typed that English paper today, and I feel pretty proud of it. It's due Monday so maybe late next week I'll know what I got on it.

Gotta head over to a friend's house now to practice a new song we're doing, hopefully everyone's weekend is going soon.

Feeling the music,

Minecraft

Today I decided to finally purchase Minecraft and I'm glad that I did. Fully addicted already, however that caused me to get several hours behind in my school work. Oh well it was definitely worth it.

I'll have to keep this post short so I can get back to work, but I might post some Minecraft creations later.

Still digging up blocks,

Hiatus

I apologize for my lack of posts recently, I guess I haven't been living up to the "daily" part of the blog, huh?
Been out of town for my cousin's wedding over the weekend and of course I managed to be stuck in the only part of Cincinnati without wifi. Oh how I dreaded the feeling of not being able to load up my blog every morning on my iPod. Definitely glad that's over.

Unfortunately, I returned home to find my new pair of head phones ripped to shreds by the resident cat. A bit of good money straight down the drain, I don't know whether to bother getting another pair or just stick to these iPod earbuds.

My "bamboo" is growing nicely though. I've read that you can transplant it so I might try to grow a patch of it out in the yard later this summer.

Out of here for now, but I promise I'll be back.

Laziness

This weekend has been pretty boring overall, but I can't complain. Found a few of my old Misfits CD's and have been listening to them almost nonstop. They're definitely an awesome band.
Helena is probably my favorite song by them, but they're all good.  I did finally get a pair of nice over the ear headphones for a good price, they're some JVC DJ headphones, picked them up for $40 and they're amazing for the price.

Got a few big tests next week, but with Friday being the end of the quarter I can feel summer coming faster and faster.  Also on Friday, I get to be an usher at my cousin's wedding. I'm excited for him, looking forward for getting out of town this weekend as well.

Definitely loving this weather, I rode my bike onto some path and into the middle of nowhere yesterday and just laid down to watch the sky while I listened to my iPod.  It was almost surreal being so far from any form of activity, almost like I was in a dream.

Looking forward to more nice March weather,

Disappointing

Well, I found out my lucky bamboo isn't actually bamboo today. What a shame, eh? It still looks nice, adds some color to my room haha.

Not much to write about, really. More rain so I can't work on my sword, but I've still been annoying my neighbors by playing that new Strat nice and loud.

I am looking for some new headphones though, I'd like to get  a decent pair preferably over the ears. My earbuds have been disagreeing with me lately and falling out every 5 minutes.  Suggestions are appreciated, I'm no brand freak but my budget is under $100 preferably.

Still fumbling with my headphones,

And the week rolls on...

Tuesdays, not too special but infinitely better than Mondays.

Not too much to say, but I am going to be hopefully starting my band back up. We're all pretty skilled, and a couple of us were in bands together before so I think this has a pretty good chance.  I'm hoping to write a lot of new riffs for this, with most of our influence coming from Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath-esque bands.

Looking to revive some old school metal,

Monday...

Man you can really tell when its Monday can't you? I woke up and some how managed to cut my armpit on my deodorant leaving me slightly agitated for the rest of the day. At least today went fast.

Decided to do my research paper on the effect of music on today's youth, like lyrics in songs, the effect of being a musician on your grades, etc etc.

I finally found my camera cord, so here's those pictures I promised of my guitar and sword. However, the sword is pretty rough at the moment due to lack of time put in so I might work on it daily from here on out if I can and post updates everyday. Pretty much all I've done to it is shave it down to size, and make some marks on it for future cuts.

The guitar, if you didn't read the post the other day, is a Fender Lonestar Stratocaster. Its beautiful and sounds even better than it looks.

Going out to do some woodwork

What a day

Ahh, how I love the rain. It seemed almost endless today, so I sought shelter inside of a nearby GuitarCenter. Haha, of course I can never seem to leave one without purchasing something. With my birthday in just two days, I splurged and got a fancy new Fender LoneStar Stratocaster, and I would make love with it could I figure out how.
Unfortunately, my sword project is put on hold since I'd rather not have my garage floor covered in wood chips.  I did take some pictures of my guitar and sword, but misplaced the cord to my camera, so hopefully tomorrow I can upload those.

As a side note, I really appreciate your feedback, its nice reading the comments everyday!

Signing off for now,

Research Paper

Hmm... I have  a research paper that I have to write for school now, the general topic is effects on the youth today from the media and basically everyday life like how song lyrics influence decisions. Any narrowed down topic ideas would be appreciated :P

In other news, I'm hand carving a sword from a stick of wood using just my hatchet and a hand saw for now. When I get to detail work, I might grab a Dremel tool or something. I'll upload some pictures of it later.

Hope everyone had a good Friday, I'm looking forward to the weekend as my birthday happens to be this Monday.
Signing off for now,
~Gryt

The Beginning

Everything has a beginning, some better than others. This is the beginning of my blog. The subject matter, you ask? I myself do not know, but it will vary from day to day, and I shall impart as much knowledge upon you people of the world as I can and enlighten your days.

A Japanese proverb says: "Beginning is easy - continuing hard."
I believe this will prove itself in time as I continue this blog.

For now I shall depart, good day to you all and may you continue on with your lives.
